History

This Play in a Day is for up to 35 KS2 or 3 pupils. The pupils will work with a facilitator throughout the day and have the opportunity to share a short performance to an audience of their choice at the end of the day.

Edward is King and Harold is the loyal Earl of Wessex, but William, the Duke of Normandy, fancies the English crown for himself. When Harold takes a trip to France and is captured and freed by William he finds himself swearing his allegiance to the Norman King. What follows, is one of the fearsest and most famous battles in English History - The Battle of Hastings.

A comprehensive retelling of Harold and William's story with lots of humour, 1066 - The Battle of Hastings is perfect for classes studying the period and is a good introduction to ensemble drama work.

Bring the story of 1066 The Battle of Hastings to life in your school hall with a fantastic Play in a Day® experience!

"The Play in a Day by Konflux was the perfect way to kick off our topic! The play covered much of the historic content that we will be looking at in an exciting and engaging way. Chris was fantastic at involving all of the children and encouraging them to perform to the best of their ability. A workshop I would definitely recommend" (School in Lincolnshire).
